A Communist State

The government of Cuba is that of a communist nation. There are fourteen provinces and one special municipality. Cuba gained its independence from Spain on May 20, 1902. Cuban legal system is based on Spanish and American Law. The President of Cuba is Fidel Castro. Castro was appointed president in 1976. The president is both the chief of state and head of government in Cuba. There is only one political party in Cuba, the Communist party. Communist party's is a party in which the government controls everything. Castro, therefore, controls everything in Cuba.
